Types of Screw Conveyors

The screw conveyor can be divided into horizontal screw conveyor and vertical screw conveyor according to the direction of material displacement.

According to the conveyor chain made of high-strength plastic screw conveyor, also known as food screw conveyor, screw hoist, mainly for conveying large products. Such as carton, turnover box, bucket water and so on.

According to the characteristics of conveying materials and different structure, screw conveyor horizontal screw conveyor, vertical screw conveyor, flexible screw conveyor, screw pipe (drum conveyor) conveyor.

(1) vertical screw conveyor

The rotating speed of the screw of the vertical screw conveyor is higher than that of the ordinary screw conveyor. Under the action of Centrifugal Force, the added materials have friction with the casing, the friction prevents the material from rotating together with the spiral blades and overcomes the gravity of the material falling, thus realizing the vertical conveying of the material. This machine has the advantages of small conveying capacity, small conveying height, high rotating speed and large energy consumption. Especially suitable for conveying good fluidity of powder granular materials, mainly used for lifting materials, lifting height is generally not more than 8 meters.

(2) horizontal screw conveyor

When the material is added to the fixed slot, because of the gravity of the material and the friction between the material and the slot, the material piled up in the lower part of the slot does not rotate with the spiral body, but only moves forward under the push of the rotating spiral blade, just as the non-rotating nut moves along the rotating screw to achieve the goal of conveying materials. The machine is convenient for multi-point loading and unloading, and can complete mixing, stirring or cooling function at the same time during conveying. It is sensitive to overload and easy to be blocked. It has breakage and loss to material. The structure of the horizontal screw conveyor is simple, and it is easy to install and maintain. Suitable for horizontal or slight inclination (Below 20 & ORDM) continuous and uniform conveying of loose materials, working environment temperature-20-+ 40 °C, conveying material temperature-20-+ 80 °C. Its rotational speed relative to the vertical conveyor to be low, mainly used for horizontal or small inclination angle conveying materials, conveying distance is generally not more than 70 meters.

(3) screw tube (drum conveyor) conveyor

Spiral pipe conveyor is in the cylindrical shell welding has a continuous spiral blade, Shell and spiral blade together with rotation. The spiral body spindle of the machine is flexible, so the transmission line can be arranged according to the space curve as needed. According to the length proportion of the horizontal and vertical (big obliquity) section in the layout line, its working principle is designed according to the ordinary screw conveyor or the vertical screw conveyor.
